Rich and Trish Walker showcase ceramic arts and fine art photography, with pottery created by Trish, and photographs from both artists. Trish has been a potter for almost ten years. She uses many different clay bodies, including both stoneware and porcelain, and fires in both gas and soda firing method, striving to create a variety of unique and colorful designs. Trish makes her pottery in her home studio and she is actively involved with the Burnish Clay Studio in Bellingham, Washington. Come in and see her porcelain swirl cups, her western style belt designs and her vintage license plate platters. Walkerartists.com also features Trish and Rich’s photographs of nature, landscapes, wildlife, city scenes, abstract, and beautiful flowers that surround us everywhere. Photos are on display from many parts of the world, including Iceland, the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, the American southwest, the east coast beaches, the botanical gardens of the southeast, and many areas close by to their home in Washington state, including Oregon, British Columbia, the Cascade and Coastal mountain ranges and farm scenes from their home area in Whatcom County. Trish and Rich have lived in Lynden, WA since 2019, after spending many years in the Atlanta, GA suburbs. They exhibited their artworks in the Roswell GA Farmers and Artisans Market for three years prior, as well as having had many of their works on display in galleries and public buildings in north Georgia. You can also visit them on Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm at the Lynden Farmers Market beginning on June 8, 2024.

"I am a fine art photographer who is retired after a long career as a marketer in the telecommunications and internet industry. During my working years, I visited many interesting places and frequented many of the popular sights that this world has to offer, whether they were city street scenes, markets, waterfronts, bridges, mountain or ocean vistas, or idyllic country scenes with barns and animals. When I was young, I often visited museums with beautiful paintings of European and American landscapes and city scenes, and I was inspired by the great landscape painters like Van Gogh, Monet and Pissarro. I became a serious photographer in the early 2000’s after purchasing my first “fancy” camera. When I learned how it worked and how to take good photographs, Ansel Adams and his beautiful landscapes became my artistic inspiration. My primary objective with my work is capturing the splendor of this earth and its multitude of different scenes, and sharing it with others to experience.
I’d like to “take you on a tour” with my photos to some of the greatest scenery I have found wherever I have been."

“I have always had a love of the arts.
I strive to find the beauty in not only the small details, but also the big picture. My photography passion started at age 9 with a simple Kodak Instamatic. I got a 35mm for my 18th Birthday, and my first digital camera at 40. I’m constantly awestruck by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, a brilliant sunrise, unusual reflections, animals, or even texture in the sand. I look to capture their beauty, and to lead the viewer on a journey through the image and the beauty of the subject! After a lifetime as a ceramic collector and enthralled by my family members who were ceramic artists, I finally took the plunge and started pottery classes at age 49. I knew it was going to be a lifelong passion, just like photography. Through talented instructors and constant practice, I learned the basics and the challenging alike. I continue to perfect both form and function, while finding my ceramic voice. I was born and raised in rural Alberta, Canada. My country living background has had a strong influence in my life and often finds its way into my artistic creations – both photography and ceramics.
My hope is that you find as much enjoyment from my work as I derive from making it!”
